چکیده

Analog Gaussian basis circuit integrated with a non-volatile storage memory cell is described. Hardware implementations of the Gaussian basis circuit with on-chip learning is needed for real time and portable applications. Each Gaussian basis cell is symbiotically interlinked with its own longterm storage memory cell forming a highly localized architecture. Experimental results of both the Gaussian basis circuit and the memory element is presented. We show simulated results of an application of our cell in a MERAM system.

The VI International Conference on Arti cial Neural NetworksICANN

Artiicial neural networks achieve fast parallel processing via massively parallel non-linear computational elements. Most neural network models base their ability to adapt to problems on changing the strength of the interconnections between computational elements according to a given learning algorithm. However, constrained interconnection structures may limit such ability. Field programmable h...

Implementation of a programmable neuron in CNTFET technology for low-power neural networks

Circuit-level implementation of a novel neuron has been discussed in this article. A low-power Activation Function (AF) circuit is introduced in this paper, which is then combined with a highly linear synapse circuit to form the neuron architecture. Designed in Carbon Nanotube Field-Effect Transistor (CNTFET) technology, the proposed structure consumes low power, which makes it suitable for the...

A Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...

A 8.6 μW 3-bit programmable gain amplifier for multiplexed-input neural recording systems.

We report a fully-integrated low-power 3-bit programmable-gain amplifier (PGA) that can be used as the second stage amplifier to adjust the gain for multi-channel neural recording systems. The design strategy maximizes energy-efficiency using a technique by optimizing a slew rate, gain and phase margin. The PGA consumes 8.66 μW from 1-V single supply. This is an order of magnitude lower than th...

A board system for high-speed image analysis and neural networks

Two ANNA neural-network chips are integrated on a 6U VME board, to serve as a high-speed platform for a wide variety of algorithms used in neural-network applications as well as in image analysis. The system can implement neural networks of variable sizes and architectures, but can also be used for filtering and feature extraction tasks that are based on convolutions. The board contains a contr...
